Joanna Kane, CPA

Joanna joined Keeping the Books, Inc. as a partner in 2003 after nearly ten years working in public and private accounting in the South Florida area. A Miami native with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Florida State University, Joanna began her career in the 1990s working for the Miami offices of Deloitte & Touche, LLP, and KPMG Peat Marwick, LLP. After rising to the senior accountant level, she then transitioned into the private sector as in-house accountant for a national restaurant cooperative where she handled financial reporting for hundreds of franchisees. From 1998 to 2003, Joanna worked as assistant controller for a travel-related media company at which her duties included financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, payroll and benefits processing, and financial consolidation of subsidiaries. Her experience in top-level analysis, as well as her hands-on work in small business environments, has made Joanna the right partner to help Anne take Keeping the Books to the next stage of growth. Joanna, who was named CEO of the company in 2009, is a detail-oriented professional whose clients appreciate her interpersonal skills and corporate experience as well as her dedication to their success.
